I'm trying to cleanup members on this list to help reduce spammers using uploading files to their home directories. As part of this, I'm considering removing all users who do not have the "Author" role. Does this seem reasonable ?

Depend on whether that includes me or not.

I have a Developer role in Documentation.

The Developer role at OOo Documentation is totally separate from the Author role at OOoAuthors. The websites are different.

Usually a request for Author role at OOoAuthors (made on this list, usually in a note stating a bit about the requester's interests) is answered within a day.

I did know that OOoAuthors was different from openoffice.org. :) And I did also figure that the roles would be totally separate but I thought I would mention it any way.

So... I started with the documentation project to get more experience writing technical documents. I've had a new job since April. The one I was in for 4 years before that, I was able to do a newsletter for our clients on How To tips for MS Office and also right other materials. In my new job, I am not allowed (don't get me started on that).

I used to write a lot of (bad) fiction as a kid and I love writing (mostly computer stuff now). In that job I mentioned I wrote articles for a monthly newsletter that went out to our clients. I did Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook. I used to be on our database/VBA development team.

So, I want to do some proofreading and editing and writing for OOoAuthors... whaddya say? :)

WalterAM (my username on OOoAuthors and OpenOffice)
