Sorry for taking so long to get to this. I have now compiled a
draft Chapter 1 for the Impress Guide, taking bits from Dan
Lewis's draft, and the chapter he wrote for the Getting Started
book, and the existing "Quickstart" chapter.
I moved the bits Dan wrote on Master Slides and some other items
into Chapter 2, which I'm now calling "Planning and Designing
Presentations"; that chapter is intended to include master
slides, templates and styles. I hope to have a draft of that
chapter ready later this week (no promises). Unless you want to
have a go at a first draft of Ch2, Dan? I've also uploaded a
slightly modified version of the proposed outline for the book.
I have submitted my version of Ch1 for review. It's quite
possible that I took out too much material, or didn't take out
enough, or need more x-refs to other chapters, or... whatever.
Comments and suggestions welcome. You'll note that a lot of the
x-refs refer to "Chapter xx" -- this is because we haven't quite
sorted out yet what sequence the chapters will be in. I may end
up doing what I did for early versions of the Writer Guide and
Getting Started guide: refer to chapter names, but not numbers,
until all the chapters are written.
