Did I miss this coming to our list?
================================================
Hello,
As most of you know, Jean recently had a hip replacement operation. She
is now out of the hospital, walking on crutches, and in good spirits.
The first day and a half at the hospital was painful because the nurses
wouldn't believe that regular pain killers don't work on Jean, but
she's fine now. She has another operation coming up (the other hip).
The doctor said she can have it whenever she feels up to it. Jean is
aiming for November or so. Right now she is trying to exercise her legs
to be ready for the next operation.
In any event, Russell, Lars and I thought we'd make a virtual greeting
card for Jean. This is just a web page where everyone can write a
message and sign. It is being hosted on the Fellowship website so that
anyone can write a something:
http://opendocumentfellowship.org/jean_greeting_card
I would like to encourage everyone here to:
1. Write a message for Jean, and sign it (instructions below).
2. Pass this email around to everyone who knows Jean. Sigrid is in
charge of passing around this message among OOoAuthors members.
3. Be discreet and post this off-list. Don't send it to a mailing list.
Jean has email access and she checks her mail.
I plan on telling Jean about the card in about 10 days, and suggest
that she post to the ODF-discuss and OOoAuthors lists when she's read
it.
INSTRUCTIONS:
-------------
1. First, you need an account. If you don't have one, click on
"register" on the top-right corner.
2. Login and go to the page:
http://opendocumentfellowship.org/jean_greeting_card
3. Click on the "Edit" tab.
4. Scroll down to the "Body" text box. You'll see it has HTML code.
5. Put your message and signature inside the
<div class="signatures-go-here">
Follow the examples from me and Sigrid. Leave one completely blank line
between your signature and the one above. This is needed to make the
signatures look right. Sigrid and I wrote short messages, but you don't
have to. I think 100 words is a good maximum.
I won't have regular email access over the next 12 days, but you are
still free to ask questions in the off-chance that I do check my mail.
BTW, Drupal doesn't warn you, if there is a conflict, so after you
sign, check some time later again, to see, if everything went correct.
Please pass this around. I'm sure I missed a lot of people. Let's see
some exponential growth :)
Cheers,
Daniel.
