I'm planning on working on my patches again over the Christmas break. I intend
to properly port it to recent 2.3 kernels, and make sure the protocol is
backwards and forwards compatible with older versions (old daemons can use new
kernels; new kernels can use old daemons - you need both to get the new
features, of course).
