hello thank to this list I managed to automount an NT share
$ more /etc/auto.master /misc /etc/auto.misc --timeout=60 $ more /etc/auto.misc servmci -fstype=smbfs,username=procacci,credentials=/etc/smb.auth ://serv-mci/mci Right :-) Now I would like to enable my 1500 users to do that ! . I cannot decently put their username/password pair in /etc/smb.auth Will it be possible that automount take the username from $USER or something ..., and ask Him to enter his password ? If possible, do you think that I could even mount by smb (instead of NFS which causes use serious security problem) their unix home dir (having samba replacing nfs) ? In that case their is a need to automount with the login/password entered from the login banner !. thanks for the advices . -- Jehan Procaccia Institut National des Telecommunications| Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] MCI, Moyens Communs Informatiques | Tel : +33 (0) 160764436 9 rue Charles Fourier 91011 Evry France | Fax : +33 (0) 160764321
