when Alexandre, the Automake maintainer, is active, he reads both lists
regularly. It seems there is a long summer in France this year.
Alexandre always provided a professional quality service; but AFAIK, it's
a volunteer work. So we have to be patient when he wants to take a few
weeks off.
Thanks for the response, I am not subscribed to the lists and thus had not
noted Alexandre's absence. I felt as though I were emailing a black hole.
