This passed back then (yes, I remember ;-)

I applied the patch to HEAD and branch-1-10.  The checkin triggered
copyright year update bumps in the Makefile.in files, as this is the
first patch to automake.in this year.  FWIW, I haven't fixed --version
output for automake and aclocal yet; the rules have changed and I'm too
tired for them now; there's a pending bug report by Eric anyway.
