So, if indeed you have: ~/src/am % grep CONFIGURE_AC automake local ($xform) = &transform ("CONFIGURE_AC" => $configure_ac); $xform = &transform ('CONFIGURE_AC' => $configure_ac, then *now* `make' should work.
