Availers, According to Google Analytics, in 2014 we had 30,738 distinct users visiting the site, requesting 100,066 page views. There were 36,402 sessions, with an average session duration of 2m23s, for a total of 5,205,486 seconds of eyeball time. That's 2 solid months... would that be one month per eyeball...? .-)
We've had more than a handful of interesting contacts over that time, volunteers helping out with various aspects of Avail development and deployment, students in various parts of the world giving talks about Avail, discussions on various public sites, people using Avail for small toy projects, an unknown number of RSS subscribers, and... a couple of dozen people on this mailing list – you! Even though not everyone involved with Avail is on this list, I'd like to say here that I'm thankful for the people that have helped make this year such a success for Avail. The public face of Avail had lots of quiet months this year (for various reasons), but Avail has advanced a /tremendous/ amount both before and after the April launch, both in its technology and in its presentation. If anyone tuned in has a suggestion for how to continue delivering the technology and philosophy of Avail to the world, the team is always looking for ideas. This list is a good place to start; if we get bogged down in specifics we can always transition to private email. Finally, for those of you living by the Gregorian calendar: Happy New Year! -Mark van Gulik, co-founder and CTO of The Avail Foundation
