All sounds fine to me!
What I'm missing is the mention that Phoenix and Cornerstone
should also be updated and that there should be an alpha
release of those together with the (probably final) release
of avalon+excalibur.
If we don't do that people who want to use phoenix are stuck
using the 3.1a1 release, thus unable to use the stable
framework.
