It is a definate leak. I have written a test in AltRMI that models it. In need to do some weak reference stuff to fix it. The alternative is to use more immutable beans (AKA value objects) and less pass-by-value interfaces. Each one of those while in use should mean an open reference linkage from the cleint to the server.
