All,

Nicola and me have written, tested and documented Tweety, a very simple
avalon container, written exclusively for educational purposes. It does
what it is supposed to do and has no known bugs; it has been shown to be
easy enough to work with as Jason van Zyl has already run away with it
to use for the up-and-coming turbine container, even when there were no
docs or release.

Distributions are currently available from
http://cvs.apache.org/~leosimons/excalibur/tweety; the site is at
http://jakarta.apache.org/avalon/excalibur/tweety.

I would like y'all to vote +1 for releasing the first beta.

The release basically involves tagging CVS and uploading the
distributions in my cvs account to the jakarta site...for which I need a
volunteer with access to that box =)

here's my +1,

- Leo Simons

BTW:

Future Release Plan (roughly)
-----------------------------
- beta 1: now.

- beta 2: with an "avalon for beginner guide" and a minimal "avalon
container howto" (probably week or two from now)

- beta 3: spell checking, beautification, etc. Maybe fix a bug if it
pops up (probably week or three from now)

- release (probably a month or so): make a little noise
