It has been talked about a few times. Without speaking for the group I believe 
the consensus is that EJB servers offer much of that architecture and it is 
probably wiser to reuse them to achieve those ends. EJBs may be a bit of a 
PITA to build, but with xdoclet and a few good examples most of the 
complexities can be avoided ... right up until you do something tricky 
anyways ;)
