The updates are now done. The upside of the updates is complete
synchronization with the overall Excalibur build process and
dependency management. The downside is a rather heavy overhead
in terms of the projects you need to checkout and build.
Here is a summary of what you need to do:
* checkout the following Apache projects:
jakarta-site
jakarta-avalon
jakarta-avalon-logkit
jakarta-avalon-excalibur
* build the following (just cd to the directory and invoke ant
but do it in the order listed)
jakarta-avalon
jakarta-avalon-logkit
* build merlin 2 (this will automatically build the Excalibur depedencies)
$ cd ..\jakarta-avalon-excalibur\assembly
$ ant
* run the demo to confirm everything is ok
$ kernel
* a number of container are running, to halt the pricess, just
hit ^C
Nest step is to put together a outline of the test units that make sense.
