agreed! IOW, the legal argument is also a strong argument for setting up firm scope boundaries. right? > In time I expect > we would make logkit a top level project, me too. (...) Looking at commits to logkit, I am not quite sure it would qualify immediately. A lot of the work on logkit seems to be done by you. Do you think there's enough actual active committers to form a solid logkit PMC? (I'm not to worried about user base, or conforming to standard, or any of those others.... :) If not, until that happens, do you think logkit could be accepted into apache commons? > move large chunks of excalibur into > Apache Commons and move testlet to graveyard then we may be close to being > capable of having a valid scope. what are your (and everyone's) thoughts on the content of avalon-apps? I think a lot of that is out-of-scope, too (I personally think everything but the demos/ is prolly better off elsewhere, probably a lot of stuff could be happy in incubator). There's no 'graveyard' project yet and it may be some time before it is formed IIUC. Perhaps avalonia (over at SF) could be a good graveyard in the meantime? > If anyone wants to help to move us towards > this then feel free to step up. hear, hear :) I'm subscribed to general@incubator and general@commons. Seem they are still rather quiet atm. When their charters become more concrete, we can get our hands dirty I guess. Until that time, I think it is healthy to exchange thoughts here so we all have at least a general idea of where we're going....... cheers, Leo -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: <mailto:avalon-dev-unsubscribe@;jakarta.apache.org> For additional commands, e-mail: <mailto:avalon-dev-help@;jakarta.apache.org>
