As Sam pointed out, go ahead and subscribe, and Nicola will (hopefully)
approve it.

There is kind of an unstated policy that any ASF Member can subscribe to
any mailing list. This is effectively based on the idea that any action of
the ASF should be reviewable by members because of that whole public
company thing; this implies reviewability of mailing lists -- not just
reviewing the accounting books or the board meeting minutes or whatever.
(yes, I know you're an emeritus member, but I don't think that really
should change anything)

To clarify: I'm not on apmail; I am on avalon-pmc, and I watch avalon-dev
via gmane.
