OK, the thing was there to accomodate the current Merlin usage
pattern.
Merlin only uses the type attribue value as a cast criteria. I think you getting mixed up between meta-info and meta-data - but I'll answer that one in reply to the other post from yourself.

If you are both happy with it going, then I'm removing it.

T must be an interface.
