Hi Ulrich,
we support any compliant 1.3 JDK and upwards. I usually use IBM JDK
1.3.1 for linux, and also test against Sun JDK 1.4.0-b92 for linux.
I know of people that run phoenix on blackdown, ibm & sun jdks for linux
(1.3.0 and upwards), and on ibm & sun jdks for windows (1.3.0 and
upwards, also 1.4.0 and upwards). I haven't heard of any major issues. I
believe people also run it on sun solaris successfully.
The few issues with the IBM JDK (File I/O 'n stuff) could affect
phoenix-hosted apps as well, but phoenix itself doesn't suffer from them
I think (though PD is the one to talk to ;). I usually recommend IBM
1.3.1 for production environments.
cheers,
Leo
