Steve,

We run both under JBoss !!

Are you part of a JBoss effort then? Or just using it in another solution?

In Q3 2000, thought was put into JBoss interoperating with Apache code in general. The problem then was that JBoss was GPL (it is LGPL now).
See http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=JBoss+Avalon&btnG=Google+Search for history. The "jboss on tomcat update" thread is very interesting as it illustrates the license minefield that existed at the time.

Avalon-Phoenix is designed to host servers written in Java. We had hoped that JBoss would be one of the those servers. We had also hoped that OpenEJB would be too. We have lots of server comps for Phoenix, but no EJB container. The nearest we have is the controvercial EOB : http://eob.sourceforge.net/

Regards,

- Paul

Subject: newbie question having tomcat with james

Peter Donald suggested that I write to this mailing list since someone might have experience doing this.

I am not sure how to go about setting this up. Do I need
to creat a .sar file for tomcat? Or would it just be
easier to have james run under tomcat.

Thank you,

James Bayer
