We are using Avr-Dragons for programming and debugging xmega128a1
devices.
The entire developing enviroment is linux-based. Programming is done by
Avrdude, debugging by varice.
Since upgrade the Dragon to the latest firmware version the
communication does show meaningless information at a lot of
debugging-commands. By example: memory-read delivers always zero, no
breakpoint is set, etc. To take the advantage of the Dragon extensions
the firmware upgrade is necessary.

A communication analysis between Avarice & Dragon and on the other hand
Studio5 & Dragon shows a lot of differences. There are new, undocumented
commands and parameters(Avr-Note 067). Avarice is not usable anymore!
We have documented the differences. The doc is available on request.

Our questions:

- is there a need to adapt the protocol changes in Avarice in general?

- are there any plans to implement the new and extended protocol in
Avarice?
- does anybody have also experiences with these changed protocol and can
help?

- does anybody own an newer protocol documentation? newer Avr-Note 067
than 11/2009?

Thx & regards

Allgaeukaes
