Well - linux doesn't have something like mediaLib on Sun and Sun will
surely not help us :) to port their library to i386 platform - I'd like
to build something slightly similar like this - but this is surely
too much work for a single person.
Anyway - at first I'd like to move all the video/audio routines
(which are worth to be optimized) from the whole avifile into this library.
Then we will see - of course if SDL | ffmpeg | mplayer | xine | (pick whatever
name you wish here) team will start something similar then we could forget
about any globality and this will be 'just another mmx library'
As it could be seen - there is zero connection between avifile and
libmmxnow - which is pure plain C library and I've tried to create
very simple API so it should be easily usable - though there
are still some minor issues I'd like to resolve.
Library will have its own separate configure script
and should be usable elsewhere just by copying the subtree.
But that's just the plan...
