Hello Richard,

Have you done 'make install'? You _must_ do it at least in plugins/
directory. Missing plugins in /usr/local/lib/avifile0.6 are the most
probable explanation why neither of 3 plugins ( divx4, ffmpeg, win32 )
which are normally able to decode DIV3 work for you.

RP> Hi,

RP> I've recently compiled avifile-0.6.0-20011018 on an RH7.2 box (using
RP> gcc-2.96 RH7.2 flavor) with all the options:

RP> Building summary:
RP> qt yes
RP> sdl yes
RP> xft yes
RP> oss audio yes
RP> sun audio no
RP> mga_vid no
RP> Plugins:
RP> ac3passthrough yes (with SBLive only)
RP> divx4 yes (DivX :-), OpenDivX, DivX4)
RP> ffmpeg yes (DivX :-), OpenDivX, MJPEG, AC3)
RP> lame runtime yes
RP> os motion jpeg yes (MJPEG)
RP> ogg/vorbis yes
RP> win32 yes (DivX, WMF1/2, DV, MJPEG, Ati, Asus,...)

RP> Everytime I try to view an AVI file, however, I get the message Unknown
RP> codec. I haven't been able to play a single video/movie clip file and am
RP> wonderinf if I'm missing certain library files or of my compiled avifile
RP> binaries are buggy. I'm using avi-win32-binaries-011002.tgz and ff. is a
RP> sample output of my attempt at playing.
