Ok - to adjust gamma you may use win32 DivX & DivX4.0 codecs - which
is now also being fully supported - of course this is not general solution
for your problem, but DivX movies should be now played without problems.
(Just pick decoder config in the popup menu with right mouse button
in the movie video)
