Well as Xine (also mplayer) is using mostly exact copy of win32 code
it's not surprice :)

However it dependends which codec you will use - try to remove your 
~/.avirc and restart the application.

You may eventually try to swap order of codecs in Config/Codec dialog
(via mouse drag)

You may try to use Win32 DivX4, FFMpeg OpengDivX  or if you have
libdecore - DivX4 OpenDivX decoder.

If all this fails - let me know...
