I also get this "Reconstructing index..." error, but at least I get sound. I do not use vcr, but my own program (avirec, which I plan to announce soon). I get this error since I use the debian packages from woody. With the November snapshots it worked. It would be nice, as long as the cvs version is unstable, to have a patch which fixes this problem (if it is a quick one). Sometimes my X crashes when trying to play those files (but this may also be a problem with the Athlon bug I am suffering at the moment). Mermgfurt, Oliver -- It's true!
