I would greatly appreciate help getting aviplay to work.
These are the steps I had taken,
Expanded avifile0.6-20011220admin.tgz, thereby creating directory;
/usr/local/avifile0.6-20011220/
Then I ./configure, make, make install, according to the instuctions in
the "README" text file.

I am using Redhat 7.2 which comes with libraries "qt 2.3.1-5" and "SDL
1.2.2-3".
I extracted "binaries-011002.tgz" into /usr/lib/win32.
I checked the diectories against the paths and they seem ok.
Finally, I tried to get aviplay to execute;

$ aviplay
fs seg 0x400af000
Available CPU flags: fpu vme de tsc msr pae mce cx8 sep mtrr pge mca cmov
199.437000 MHz Pentium Pro processor detected
Xlib: extension "RENDER" missing on display ":0.0".

At this point I browsed for the *.avi file and got lines streaming across
the teminal; most look ok. Those that do not (to me anyway) are;

              ************************
Warning DS_Filter() no soch class objecy. (DLL=mpg4ds32.ax)
DirectShow_VideoDecoder: FATAL: DS_Filter() format not accepted.

I don't understant what "RENDER" missing means, or why these's no SDL
support.
Any suggestions would certainly be appreciated.
