I am having difficulty in choosing which encoder I want to use when
multiple encoders share the same fourcc. For example, if I have DivX4
and XviD support compiled in to avifile, and I tell avirec I want to
encode to DivX4, it will recognize that I want to encode to DivX4, say
that it is setting the parameters for DivX4, and then create an XviD
encoder instead, apparently because XviD is the first plugin to be
loaded (last alphabetically). I can flip this order by changing the
load order of the plugins in codeckeeper.cpp, but then DivX4 steps on
FFMPEG OpenDivX when I try to choose it. I believe this to be a problem
with the avifile library in general, and not just the avirec program.
I've had the same problem with other programs as well, for at least all
of the avifile .7 series, and possibly .6 as well.

Is there something else I need to be doing to get this to work? I've
tried playing with the order of the codecs in aviplay but that doesn't
seem to do anything for encoding. Besides which, if I tell it
explicitly to use DivX4, I would think it would use DivX4, regardless of
any other preferences.
