Well it's simple (and it's described in ac3passthrough readme)

basicaly - set OSS audio renderer (actually it should fallback to
this renderer anyway)

and put AC3 passthrough plugin ahead of FFMPEG AC3 decoder and
AC3 decoder plugin. (Config/Decoders - right pannel - drag with mouse
to move item up/down - new code is mostly ready to replace this mechanism,
but not yet used by player)

But I doubt it'll work this way - as I think this is reather SBLive
specific code.

So you will have to check how is AC3 initialized for your card
by mplayer & xine and what kind of data are passed to it
(if it's completely unmodified data stream - it might be implemented
as a simple option for the current AC3 passthrough plugin - as for SBLive
data are 'packetized' and I would be surpriced if other cards
would be using same kind of AC3 packets)

Anyway as I really can't check it and it would be very complicated
for me to develop it without appropriate hardware - it's most probably
up to you if you are able to figure out what is necessary to do - I may
check initialization routines by myself - but it would be
trial & error system - I'll commit something - you'll have to
check if it works - so if you could do this without me - it would be
much better.
