Hello, My name is Albert Strasheim. I am currently doing holiday work at an engineering company (StoneThree Signal Processing, www.stonethree.com) in Somerset West, South Africa.
I am working on a proprietary video capture and transport library, specifically looking at extending its support for AVI reading and writing. The library currently has some (buggy) code for writing uncompressed AVI files. StoneThree is not the only copyright holder of the library, and as such cannot license the code under the GPL. However, I was hoping that you might consider licensing the Avifile libraries under the LGPL, so that we may link against it, and spend our time contributing patches to the Avifile codebase instead of rolling our own AVI code. What are you feelings on this matter? Would you be more receptive to this idea if StoneThree were to contribute some patches to the Avifile codebase? What are the feelings of the owners of the other GPLed parts of the Avifile code? I look forward to hearing from you. Regards, Albert Strasheim _______________________________________________ Avifile mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://prak.org/mailman/listinfo/avifile
