yup. i do, every font i change to within the aviplay config, it still
diplays the same "<renderer> : Failed to open X11 font". something must
be wrong with the syntax/format(?)

wasn't sure how to "choose" codecs (nothing in man/--help) so i just
mv'd the ffmpeg temporarly to test different ones. same thing.

after viewing the video several times, it would appear that the video &
audio start synced. but after a couple of seconds, the audio seems to be
playing at a faster rate then the video.

eh, now i'm definitely going to grab some shut-eye.
