As far as I know there is no such thing as DS encoder - all
encoder I've seen so far were the usual dll files - the only
exception was wm8 dlls which are in the new format which is
not supported so far (as M$ supplied also DS decoders so
it's not necessary for decoding and I guess noone wants
to encode into proprietary formats - and if someone wants - well
he has to add support for them :))

As I'm proud unuser of Windows systems so I do not know about
the internal details and I current do not have time to check
the spec for this format there is currently no chance this support
would be written by me...

Maybe you would like to check ffmpeg project or Xvid project - maybe
they already provide the code you would like to write..

Yep he seems to be somewhat comercially so busy he doesn't seem to have
even time to at least update buggy divx4linux...

If you will collect documentation for the format and provide
necessary sample Win libs and eventually even source code
for them then I could take a look on this - but otherwise
you will have to write this yourself...
