There is also prefered ffmpeg mjpeg decoder which should be quite 
fast even on solaris - myself I don't have time to check avifile
on solaris - if you want to help with fixing some problems on this
platform you are welcome - if you aren't expect I assume usage of
mplayer might be simplier solution...

You would have to pass the configure log

the only internal codec is uncompressed video - I assume I'll put few
more into interal library core - i.e. ffmpeg (which is already
linked with libaviplay anyway and few audio codecs which do not
depend on any other external library...
