[Avifile]avifile codec

Hello,

I recently installed RedHat Linux 8, and have been trying to learn how to use it.

I found a program called MPlayer, and it plays my mp3s, but when I try to play .avi, .mpeg, .mpg, or DivX files, all I get is sound. I am guessing I don't have the right codecs?

I downloaded avifile-0.7.22-20021129.tgz and divx4linux-20020418.tgz, but how do I install them?
