Hi. I've got a problem. You see I recently converted over to linux (with
only minimal problems) due to hearing about apt and having to try it for
myself. However I've found that not all my dependency problems have been
solved - so I resorted to downloading the RPM's from sourceforge.
I still can't install avifile due to dependency problems. When trying to
install avifile (rpm) I get dependancy warnings -
libdivxdecore.so.0
libdivxencore.so.0
libvorbisfile.so.3
I figured I'd work on one problem at a time so I found a tarball containing
libdivxdecore which I managed to install sucessfully (to my utter shock and
surprise) and compiled it even. The files libdivxdecore and libdivxencore
are now in my /usr/lib directory but I'm still getting the same error
message from RPM.
Can someone please suggest a (constructive - abuse bites) remedy for my
problems?
-Any help is greatly appreciated.
Nevyn.
