I'm a long time avifile user, since the days the project was starting, with the win32 dlls beeing the main focus.
Nowadays, mplayer and xine gained the public attention, probably because of the "skinable player" feature that avifile does not have, but that's not really something that everybody needs. Most people seem to do, though.
I compile avifile from CVS each time I install afresh a new distribution or or a new computer.
Only recently I have compiled mplayer, out of curiosity, and I must admit it's pretty impressive.
Nevertheless avifile does the job for me. I thank the developers.
I was wondering, do mplayer and xine still use the library from avifile? .. or are they on their own?
Also, Zdenek are you the last of the developers, the lone rider :-) Is there anyone else contributing?
I ask because I've seen the spam intoxicated list archive for September and it looked that higher life forms have a hard time surviving there, only a few brave ones here and there.
