So I just got around again to trying to use AVRDUDE 5.1 with the AVRISP mkII on Mac.  libusb 0.1.12 was recently released, so I thought I'd try it again.

No luck though.  After installing libusb, I tried rebuilding AVRDUDE.  After executing ./configure,  I noticed this:

checking for main in -lusb... no

When trying to access the usb, I receive this error:

pcp016944pcs:~/Desktop/avrdude-5.1 chrispy$ avrdude -pm32 -cavrisp2 -Pusb
avrdude: ser_open(): can't open device "usb": No such file or directory
pcp016944pcs:~/Desktop/avrdude-5.1 chrispy$ avrdude -pm32 -cavrisp2 -P USB
avrdude: ser_open(): can't open device "USB": No such file or directory

Anyone have any ideas to why libusb will not work with AVRDUDE?

Thanks,

Chris
