I'm returning to avrdude after a long period of non-use. I downloaded
6.0.1, compiled and installed it with ordinary user privileges (e.g. I
passed --PREFIX=/home/bob/local to ./configure) to my home directory on 64
bit CentOS 6.4.

My idea right now is to plug an arduino set up with the ArduinoISP sketch
into the CentOS box, and use that as the programmer device for a different,
target Arduino. Would I need to add a UDEV rule for this to work? Would the
rule needed be specific to the 'dialout' group?

Thanks
