There isn't really any doc that describes the differences at this point. Away3D 4 (broomstick) is alpha at this point.
The closest thing I can give you is documentation for the Away3D 4 (broomstick) api. http://away3d.com/livedocs/broomstick/Away3D/ And I do not know the answer to your specific question about modifiers. -Dave
