Details - I have a problem since I upgraded awesome to version 3.5.
I have a part in my configuration, letting me drag windows when pressing 1st
mouse button and holding my meta key.
The configuration is exactly the same in the default rc.lua shipped with
Awesome. The concrete part in my configuration
can be found here:
https://github.com/timroes/my-awesome/blob/master/ui/clients.lua#L80
Till 3.4.11, which I used beforehand that configuration worked all fine. From
3.5 on, the moving fails to stop often.
Meaning:
- I begin moving the window, cursor turns to move cursor and window follows my
mouse.
- As soon as I release the mouse button, the window still follows the mouse and
the cursor is still the movement cursor.
I would expect (as it was beforehand), that the window stops moving at that
point. Also clicking any mouse button (again)
or pressing any key, don't stop the movement. I can only reload awesome to stop
the window following the mouse. This happens
fairly often (every 15 minutes during regular work), but not regular as far as
I can say that.
I also tried releasing meta key before and after releasing the button, doesn't
change anything. The bug affected several windows,
so it's not limited to any special applications.
I would happy to provide more information, but I have no clue, what could be helpful for that. I tried to cause that bug with the
default config, but it didn't seem to occur in a time span, where my config would have already caused it. So I think it's something
related to my configuration, and I am not even sure, if you can call it a bug
in Awesome, but at least till 3.5 my configuration worked.
I really hope for some feedback, and I am glad if I could provide more
information.
