As for "4) Something goes wrong": with e.g. Firefox/Pentadactyl the status bar is off the screen: the titlebar's height appears to be not taken into account for the client's height, and therefore pushes the client off the screen. If you toggle the titlebar (off), the Firefox status bar becomes visible (and the window fits the screen).
