Hi I work as a system administrator at a Computer Science department and I'm currently doing a major overhaul on our SunRay thin client system. One of the things i would like to make availible on the new system is Awesome (probably only myself is going to use it, but still). The window manager itself works without problems but the wibar and menus seems to suffer from major visual corruption [1] making Awesome a lot less awesome to use.
The Xserver used by the SunRay system is a modified version of Xorg called Xnewt. I have Awesome 3.2 installed on an up-to-date Gentoo server. Output of xdpyinfo is included below (don't know if it's relevant?). Does anyone have any idea about how to fix this, or at least where to look to get an idea about what's going on? Please let me know if you need any more information :) Regards Truls Asheim [1] http://diku.dk/~truls/awesome_screenshot.png Output from xdpyinfo: name of display: :11.0 version number: 11.0 vendor string: The X.Org Foundation vendor release number: 70200000 X.Org version: 7.2.0 maximum request size: 16777212 bytes motion buffer size: 256 bitmap unit, bit order, padding: 32, LSBFirst, 32 image byte order: LSBFirst number of supported pixmap formats: 2 supported pixmap formats: depth 1, bits_per_pixel 1, scanline_pad 32 depth 24, bits_per_pixel 32, scanline_pad 32 keycode range: minimum 8, maximum 255 focus: window 0xc02092, revert to PointerRoot number of extensions: 27 BIG-REQUESTS DAMAGE DEC-XTRAP DOUBLE-BUFFER DPMS Extended-Visual-Information GLX MIT-SCREEN-SAVER MIT-SHM MIT-SUNDRY-NONSTANDARD RANDR RECORD SECURITY SGI-GLX SHAPE SYNC TOG-CUP X-Resource XAccessControlExtension XC-APPGROUP XC-MISC XFIXES XInputExtension XKEYBOARD XTEST XVideo XVideo-Encoded default screen number: 0 number of screens: 1 screen #0: print screen: no dimensions: 1280x1024 pixels (361x289 millimeters) resolution: 90x90 dots per inch depths (1): 24 root window id: 0x2d depth of root window: 24 planes number of colormaps: minimum 1, maximum 1 default colormap: 0x21 default number of colormap cells: 256 preallocated pixels: black 0, white 16777215 options: backing-store YES, save-unders YES largest cursor: 64x64 current input event mask: 0x5a0030 EnterWindowMask LeaveWindowMask StructureNotifyMask SubstructureNotifyMask SubstructureRedirectMask PropertyChangeMask number of visuals: 4 default visual id: 0x23 visual: visual id: 0x23 class: TrueColor depth: 24 planes available colormap entries: 256 per subfield red, green, blue masks: 0xff, 0xff00, 0xff0000 significant bits in color specification: 8 bits visual: visual id: 0x24 class: TrueColor depth: 24 planes available colormap entries: 256 per subfield red, green, blue masks: 0xff, 0xff00, 0xff0000 significant bits in color specification: 8 bits visual: visual id: 0x25 class: TrueColor depth: 24 planes available colormap entries: 256 per subfield red, green, blue masks: 0xff, 0xff00, 0xff0000 significant bits in color specification: 8 bits visual: visual id: 0x26 class: TrueColor depth: 24 planes available colormap entries: 256 per subfield red, green, blue masks: 0xff, 0xff00, 0xff0000 significant bits in color specification: 8 bits -- To unsubscribe, send mail to [email protected].
