Background:
Some time ago, a long LONG time ago as apparently this pre-dates even JDK 5,
the plugin needed these functions for systems that used X11. They are no longer
needed even though deploy code still resolves the symbols and has stub
functions to call them (will be handled internally). I tripped over this corpse
in the process of working on JDK-8003900. I tagged it noreg-cleanup since it's
just removing dead code.
I don't know if anyone outside of Oracle uses these functions, but it seems
highly unlikely to me.
