in axapta there are several ways of renaming a value. one way is to write a job to rename the values of the field in a particular table.
in your case i think you want to globally rename. for the example which you have specified to rename an ITEMID. you go to item master. Then select the ItemId you want to rename. Then right click and here you select "RecordInfo". then you select rename, here you write the new Id which you want to replace the earlier ones. ones you do this the system will change the itemId for all the records in the tables which had that particular id. Remember that it takes quite some time to update the record so try to change it when there are no users online. another reason for this is that during the time you are making the change some other user could be using the same id. hope this answers your question. regards, Girish --- Joel WU <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Hi Everyone: > > > > Does anyone know hoe to batch rename a field value > from one value to > another? > > Like rename itemid. > > > > Regards, > > Joel > > ___________________________________________________________ALL-NEW Yahoo!
