Steve, I am writing a development tutorial - training documentation. I already covered the validation methods on tables, fields and data sources. The validatewrite, validatefield, validatedelete methods. The property validate on Relations, the property deleteaction on DeleteActions and the property Mandatory on fields.
Now I read somewhere that there is a validation method on form controls. Meanwhile I found that we can make a field mandatory with setting the property Mandatory on the form control to yes. There is however a question that came up while doing some testing with the table CustTable. I find some groups on the design that have the AutoDataGroup set to yes. When this property is set to yes, one cannot change the property mandatory of the fields in the group. What is the purpose of the AutoDataGroup ? I have changed the setting of the Mandatory form control for the field name on the overview tab. From now onwards the name is mandatory in the overview tab. Are there other validation methods on form controls ?
