the information you have write is not enough to identify the error pls check these things
 
Which axapta version your are using
if object server and the application in same server if fat client is working fine start the AOS and run the thin client.
check the default gateway and the subnet mask are same for the thin client and server
check the ip address is correct
check by pinging the AOS server is posible
