In basic terms the clustered index key determines the physical order in which the data pages are stored. That means that all topics starting with A will come first in the book then B and so on in alphabetical order. As a result of this you can have only one clustered index per table.
The data pages of the non-clustered index are not stored in the order of the index key. This is like a book with an index at the back where you locate a topic in alphabetical order in the index and then skip to the pages to find the topic. You can have more than one non-clustered index per table and a table that has a clustered index can have several non-clustered indexes.
