You will generate the same error at step 6 The error message of locked dimensions is completely mis-leading. What is happening is something completely different. What Axapta tried to do is to try and re-reserve the quantity on sales order against a different receipt. Fails to do so (since there is no other receipt) and throws out this (mis-leading) error. So what Axapta is trying to do is basically correct. However, there is a small bug with this. The warehouse dimension is financially as well as physically insignificant so there is no reason why the quantity of 2 in warehouse GW can be reserved against quantity of 2 in warehouse MW. It should be very easy to fix this bug (in method updatedimreservchange of class inventupdate). Now create a purchase order for the same item for say 100 quantities in say warehouse MW and try to repeat step 6. Now Axapta is happy to change the warehouse for you.
