Hi Ramesh,

Are you aware that you won't be able to see the portal both inside and
outside of your LAN through the same portal instance?

If you want to view it from workstations connected to your LAN you'll
need one instance of the portal registered in Axapta's website's form
with webserver name (axep) and webserver directory (http://axep/ep) set
up for local access and a separate instance set up for access through
the internet with the webserver name (hercules.com or whatever) and
webserver directory (http://www.hercules.com or whatever) appropriate
for that. These can both use the same web application and share web
users. Note that you are best to use a separate webserver machine for
each portal instance as a COM connector can only be connected to a
single webserver at a time so you'll need two instances of the COM
connector if you want the portal to be accessible through both paths
simultaneously.

Hope that is what you were looking for.

Cheers,
Keith

Subject: Setting up Axapta - Enterprise portal

"Enterprise portal deployment Issue "

we had deployed axapta enterprise portal in LAN and everthing worked
fine.

further we had thought about enabling the same for Internet.

our domain is named as "HERCULUS"
The system on which we deployed the Enterprise portal is named "AxEP"

all the workstations have a static IP

http://axep/ep/defaul.asp is perfect

Now we added an public IP to the system in
( Internet protocol -> Advanced and subnet mask defined " )
and configured IIS with default web site having public Ip and in
advanced we had other static local ip defined)

I restarted the IIS and windows 2000 server and tried to access over web
,I was glad
to see the home page.

when i enter my web username and password the URL now changed to Local
URL
http://axep/ep
and subsequently "page not found error" on the webpage

i have tried some options as follows for default website ,

1) retain only public ip in the default website
2) with all unassigned
3) with public and local ip
4) tried with ports 80 for local and 8080 for public ip

is this to do something with firewall , gateway setup etc,. not too sure

need help further on the same..

thanks in advance

-Ramesh
