Title: Message
Thanks Harry

That helped me solve it!!!
For everyones info THERE IS A BETWEEN POSTING WITH THE 'POSTING' CHECK MARKED OR NOT.
With checked then the method checkdiscardline on class salesformletter is run but without the tick this method is not called.

The result is your proforma and actual print out will be DIFFERENT for lines that you put zero in the update qty field on the posting screen!!!! In the proforma printout these zero update qty lines will appear.

Thanks everyone (sorry maybe I should have highlighted I was not selecting post although I think in general most of us believed that not selecting posting should give exactly the same printout but just a proforma title...)

I guess I should maybe report this to MBS as an error if it still occurs in SP4 but for now at least I can provide the info to the users I am training.

Thanks everyone once again
James

hi

CheckDiscardLine method on salesFormletter class is responsible for discarding lines with zero quantity.

put a debug on this line and check the value of  salesparmline.delivernow

if this quantity is not zero then problem is somewhere else.

If this quantity is zero then try changing the statement

        if (! this.checkDiscardLine())

to

        if (!this.checkDiscardLine())
(remove the space between ! and this)

Nope backorder tracking is turned off...but I am
suspecting it could be this
as it is only Delivery ntoe and invoice that have the
problem and it is only
tehse that have the back order trakcing option...

Although I cannot explain why girish yours seems to be
working fine...what
SP are you running?

Thanks
James

Thanks girish,

You set the qty to zero in the psosting screen is it?
Or on actual sales
line/deliver now? Just want to check because I tried 2
different std system
and they both still show for delivery notes and
invoices....

Mmm just had a thought is it maybe something to do
with selecting to see
backorder quantity??? Let me check Thanks James

Hi James,

yes i have tried that too. Infact when there was a
requirement from a
client that they needed to post the invoice by
delivery note then i that
case all i did was the lines which were not to be
posted i updated the qty
to zero and these lines were neglected. So i am not
sure why this is
happening at ur end. Might be some changes were made
to include all the
lines.

Sorry Girish,

I forgot to mention I had several lines to update and
I just set one of them
as zero qty.  Can you try that instead and see whether
the zero line appears
on the print out with zero qty.

Thanks
James

Hi James,
i am not sure why its happening at ur end. I just
now created a SO then when posting the delivery note i
changed the Update qty to zero . The order did not get
posted and i got a msg that "No lines for posting or
quantity = 0". earlier when there was a requirement of
posting the invoice for only certain lines i just made
the qty = 0 and did have to delete the lines.
