Subject: RE: FW: [Axapta-Knowledge-Village] WO and BOM question

HI Harry,

Well at first i wanted to stop a WO from being created unless the user selected a BOM and that at the form of creating a WO, doind this will prevent from having a WO without a BOM,but lets say we didnt make the BOMID mandatory or even we did and we used the MP to create a WO we may still have a WO without a BOM which leads to the question u mentioned.

update to production order must check whether the BOM lines are present?whatever is the way to create a WO.

And why we can still report as finished while there is no BOM??

Thanks for the help

Hi

Ok what is ur question again?

I thought that you wish to make the BOM field mandatory on sales line if a user wants to create BOM.

Now you are saying that update to production order must check whether the BOM lines are present. Is this correct?

Harry

U mean the sub BOM field?

Ok what about making the BOMID field Mandatory at level of the table or form? I tried at level of form and it worked, but how can WO still can be updated if there is no BOM selected, u can do report as finished, well this not supposed to happen but i tried and i was able to report as finished without a BOM!!

Hi

No that is not the only way but that is the easiest way.

Just disable the button if the BOM field is not filled up on the sale line.

Ideal way would be to catch this error on form ‘ProdTableCreate’, it really depends on how far do you want to go.
